IMBS Green Campus is pleased to announce the formal appointment of its new Academic Board, which took place on 18 June 2025 at the Campusโ€™s main premises. Appointment letters were ceremonially signed in the presence of the Chairman, Professor Sarath Amunugama.

Emeritus Senior Professor Chitra Ranjani (University of Kelaniya) and Mrs Shamini Attanayake (former Director General, National Institute of Social Development) executed their appointments during the ceremony.

Also in attendance were Mr Gotabhaya Jayaratne (Director, IMBS Green Campus), Mr Prasanna Perera (General Manager), and Mrs Hasini Jayaweera (Deputy Head of Academics).

Professor Ranjani holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Kelaniya and both a Masterโ€™s and Doctorate from the University of Punjab, India. With more than 40 years of academic and administrative service, she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (University of Kelaniya), Deputy Director General of SLIATE, and Director of the Department of Accountancy. She has led major World Bankโ€“funded initiatives, including AHEAD and IRQUE, and remains an editorial-board member and adviser to several academic journals, making enduring contributions to financial education advancement in Sri Lanka.

Mrs Attanayake earned her Bachelorโ€™s degree in Sociology and Masterโ€™s degree in Sociology and Social Work from the University of Colombo. A distinguished sociologist, lecturer, and researcher, she formerly served as Director General (Academics) of the National Institute of Social Development. Her scholarship and leadership in social-work education have significantly advanced social-development initiatives across Sri Lanka.
