About Green Synergy

The Green Synergy Business Excellence Awards is a national benchmark initiative dedicated to recognizing achievement and elevating business standards across Sri Lanka. Conceived by IMBS Green Campus in partnership with the Distance Learning Centre (DLC), the program recognizes micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) demonstrating outstanding operational efficiency, resilient leadership, and measurable sustainability.

More than a ceremonial recognition, Green Synergy serves as a bridge connecting academia, industry, and governance. Entrants undergo an evidence-based assessment designed to help organizations identify core capabilities, strengthen governance, and build lasting stakeholder value.

Green Synergy evaluates applications using a comprehensive 1,000-point scoring model assessed across three structured phases:

  1. Technical Review (40%)
  2. Final Presentation & Interview (40%)
  3. On-site Verification (20%)

  1. Leadership & Strategy: Vision, resilient execution, and growth metrics (140 Pts).
  2. Governance & Ethics: Sound legal compliance, transparency, and integrity (100 Pts).
  3. Financial Stability: Track record across the preceding 3 audited years (200 Pts).
Operations & People
  1. Market Reach & Customers: Service standards and client retention (140 Pts).
  2. Workplace Culture: Capacity building, safety, and team empowerment (140 Pts).
  3. Sector Excellence: Benchmarking against relevant industry trade standards (60 Pts).
Innovation & Sustainability
  1. Digital Adoption: Tech integration and operational modernization (100 Pts).
  2. Environmental & Social Care: Eco-initiatives and positive community impact (120 Pts).
